I was struggling with moving forward on a course idea I've been considering for several years: teaching English to Spanish-speaking immigrant mothers. I felt overwhelmed with the many aspects of bringing an online course to fruition. There were just too many moving parts for a person who was a total novice and my fear of creating an unsuccessful (1:many) course stopped me from moving forward at all. I had purchased other courses but they were too complex. I joined Experience Product Masterclass and discovered that taking small steps week by week was indeed the best way for me to get to Mission Accomplished for a 1:1 Minimum Viable Product. I learned that this course that I can offer one-to-one will allow me to validate the course I create and that the first iteration won't be the last. I took action by following Marisa's robust course roadmap, her clear videos, and depended on the support and guidance of my Coach (Kanu) during our weekly live calls. Having Kanu's feedback, encouragement, and knowledge allowed me to present my offer to several friends in my circle and gain the trust and excitement from one "perfect client" as she is a young Spanish-speaking mother who speaks little English but is determined to become "the hero in her own life" by speaking up for herself instead of depending on others to translate for her when she speaks to teachers, doctors, her employer, and those in the English-speaking community. I took action (deadlines helped!) by completing Mission Accomplished and ended up with clarity and confidence that this online course will positively impact my clients (as they learn English) and I become a business owner for the first time. I'm so excited.
What's been the biggest change in your business?
I am creating this course in order to have a business that will make a positive impact on the life of future clients (Spanish speaking mothers who want to learn English to be able to speak for themselves) while also earning income that will make a difference in my life, especially as I am planning to retire in mid-2027. Within the next 18 months, I'm determined to sell to a minimum of 50 clients by improving the first iteration of my course and increasing my social media presence, as well as going through the whole EPM course to which I have lifetime access.
How has EPM and your success impacted your life?
This is truly the first course I've finished to "Mission Accomplished". I've learned to keep moving forward and make deadlines my friend.
What's your biggest takeaway from EPM?
Takeaway: there is no perfect.
A true EPM win is any moment you move closer to your people.
What's now possible for you because of your Experience Product?
I will actually use my teaching skills to bring a sense of confidence to others who have struggled in this country to move ahead; learning English and gaining confidence to practice it with English-speaking people and expand their world will indeed make my students feel like the heroine of their own life. I, too, am an immigrant and know how much education and becoming bilingual have brought me professional and personal success. How exciting for me to be part of their journey.
