Im reaching retirement after 40 years of Systems and Database development, and wish to pass on my wisdom to others, I wanted to understand how best to do this, I had the shell of a course designed, and wished to structure this, I joined the EPM class to learn this as it seemed a good way forward, I learned a lot about how to provide quick wins and make the course more interesting and soft of interactive by the use of quick wins and lots of little targets, within the medium sized goals, which are wrapped within the whole course.
I have now created the www.artofreporting.co.uk website as both a prototype and a on-line development environment, the site is mainly created using the tools, methods which are taught in the course.
What's been the biggest change in your business?
Not a big amount, just a lot of clarity with how long things take to teach, and how best to structure a course
How has EPM and your success impacted your life?
The EPM itself was a struggle time wise, I had expected to spend about four to five hours per week on this, however I quickly found that 5 hours were taken up just attending live videos, on top of that there was the training videos to watch, plus the workings themselves
To do it justice I need three or so days per week - I wish I had had the insight at the beginning to plan better, instead I quickly found I was falling behind
I did all the work to graduate and graduated in the required time -Also I did buy the extra done for you - which Mel did brilliantly and captured 95% of my thoughts - Mel provided a brilliant Course layout - which I am still in the process of reviewing and merging with my more technical thoughts
Mel really understood me- really helps having an English Coach who understands, the culture and fully comprehended my thoughts feelings and fears
What's your biggest takeaway from EPM?
Creating a course is a process - the process needs to be carefully done so as to provide information to the students in a structured and intuitive way, in a timely manner.
What's now possible for you because of your Experience Product?
I understand the concept of providing the course, both the goals and the hurdles.
