My 12-Week Journey in the Experience Product Masterclass - Mission Accomplished(EPM)
The Journey
The past 12 weeks in the Experience Product Masterclass have been a rollercoaster of growth, challenges, and aha moments! Initially, I thought we’d have more one-on-one sessions, but I quickly realized the power of “side-door” coaching—learning from the questions and insights of others. Even when I didn’t get to ask my own questions, the responses often held golden nuggets that helped me move forward.
Coach Uwe brought his A-game every time, kicking off sessions with motivation and always asking, “What are your wins?” That question alone pushed me to keep taking action, no matter how small. And we’d always end with a resounding “Boom Carpet!”
The Wins
If speaking is my superpower, cold calling is my kryptonite! One of the biggest breakthroughs for me was mastering chatterboxing—engaging with friends, neighbors, and potential clients to see if my services were the right fit. Here’s how I opened the conversation:
• If you could change one thing about how you feel when speaking in front of others, what would it be?
• What’s your ideal scenario for delivering a confident and impactful presentation?
• What’s holding you back from becoming the communicator you want to be?
• How might things change if you could speak with confidence and ease?
EPM also pushed me to take bold action! One of my biggest wins was rejoining the local Chamber of Commerce and planning a ribbon-cutting for my business, Speak and Shine Coaching. Since my city is small, the mayor often attends ribbon cuttings, and it’s an amazing opportunity to network. As a home-based entrepreneur working mostly online, this will help me connect with potential clients face-to-face and use chatterboxing.
Although I have a digital business card, I purchased 500 printed cards. At every event, my business cards will be included in a business card holder distributed to dozens of local businesses. And there are monthly networking events I will ‘get out of the house’ to attend. One event I’m looking forward to is my ribbon cutting for Speak and Shine® Like other events, my ribbon cutting will be covered by the local TV channel and shared on Facebook. Plus, I’ll be giving away:
A free coaching session
Two Speak and Shine mugs filled with candy
A Speak and Shine T-shirt
Flyers highlighting my services and my monthly free workshop

And the cherry on top? I landed a client in December—someone I hadn’t spoken to in years but who remembered me from our university days. Proof that showing up and taking action works!

The Challenges
One big challenge? In my first coaching session with my client, I forgot to hit record! Since session recordings were included in the package, I made it right by offering my client a bonus 30-minute session to go over key speaking techniques. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because it also gave her the opportunity to re-record her one-minute “Before” introduction video. We’ll compare it with her final session recording to see her growth in action!
I also had to rethink how I shared practice materials. Instead of emailing session links every time, I created five Google Drive folders, one for each session, where my client can easily access recordings and exercises. Now, everything is in one place—simple and organized!
My next step is to include my sales page for my Speak & Shine Coaching program on my website. This is something I was able to revise during the final weeks of EPM thanks to a sales template.
Lessons Learned & Next Steps
Overall, this journey has been transformative! I’m excited to keep iterating my way to awesome and refining my approach. I'm happy I am among those who have reached the graduation milestone! Mission Accomplished completing the program and making a sale! One major takeaway? I’ve learned to leverage ChatGPT to craft customized vocal exercises that enhance pitch, pacing, tone, melody, and volume. AI is now my secret weapon in helping clients Speak & Shine with confidence!
Here’s to continuous growth—one iteration at a time!
