I have been involved in a Google group of volunteer managers in animal welfare and I hear similar questions asked to the group about how the other manage their programs' struggles such as recruitment, retention, training, onboarding and more. After nearly 10 years of using a system I created for our mission, I realized that most people have the same problems- but the issue is not how each one does x, y, or z, it's the difference in understanding how to turn your problem around to a solution through systems. The system I created helped my mission run well, most of the time without a volunteer manager! So I realized that joining EPM would help me have some accountability to create a course for volunteer managers that helps them systematize their needs with processes, templates and strategies that work- and that these people and their organizations would pay to have help in this area! While I haven't launched yet (simply graduated) the struggle I had outlining this program was resolved with the EPM process- and now I can help volunteer managers better utilize their volunteers to save more animals!
